Tata Motors unveiled its new generation range of commercial vehicles, Tata Ultra, at Futuroad Expo today, showcasing three new models: 814 (4,5 tonne), 1014 (5,5) and 1418 (7,5).
Tata says that the Ultra is designed and tested for SA conditions and will deliver versatility (multiple wheelbase and payload options), performance (140 PS CR engine and new generation 6-speed overdrive transmission), comfort (extra space, ergonomic seating, best-in-class NVH and standard HVAC, ensuring higher driver productivity), style (elegant and stylish aerodynamically designed cabin) and safety (full air brake, cabin meeting European safety norms).
Suitable for large fleet, captive users, fleet rental or logistics companies, the Tata Ultra offers a wide cabin and track that makes it one of the most versatile platforms for wider and longer bodies.
With three wheelbase options and payloads ranging from 3 to 8 tonne, the Ultra platform is designed to deliver across applications making this offering a true business utility vehicle.

The Ultra range will be assembled locally at the Tata Motors South Africa plant situated in Rosslyn, Pretoria.”
