Scale model manufacturer IMC Models, in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, is working on high-end die-cast scale models of Mercedes-Benz Actros and Arocs trucks. The product range will consist of StreamSpace, BigSpace and GigaSpace cabines for the regular Actros and Arocs, including the heavy duty SLT trucks. Available chassis configurations are 4×2, 6×2, 6×4 and 8×4.
The models in scale 1:50 are being developed in close cooperation with Mercedes-Benz product engineers to ensure a realistic, functioning and highly detailed end-result. Features include open doors, proportional steering, variable cabine positions and more.

“Our decision to choose open doors has multiple benefits. It highlights the interior, something which becomes increasingly more detailed. It opens up more possibilities when displaying models in dioramas. We can fit a driver figure behind the wheel if desired.
“Overall it’s a feature which sets us apart from the current trucks on the market and gives our models a unique identity. Each model consumes more die-cast than ever before. We currently have the heaviest models compared to our closest competitors, for improved durability and stability.
“Development is in full swing and a public introduction is scheduled for mid August 2019 with an estimated delivery date one month later. All models will receive a luxurious slide-fit packaging, quality black foam fitting and a custom full-color sleeve,” states IMC Models’ Danique Jordaan.
