Bridgestone South Africa bolsters operations with new management talent
Yugan Moodley has joined Bridgestone South Africa in the capacity of Sales Director. He brings with him significant experience that spans over 25 years in the industrial sector which among other things, includes creating new business models and structuring trade portfolios to be conducive for aggressive growth.
As part of the sales team, Moodley will be responsible for leading and driving Bridgestone’s sales strategy. Further to this he will create and nurture potential and existing client relationships.
In his prior role at Robert Bosch, Moodley was responsible for leading the sales capability for the power tools division across 12 countries at board level which included South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, DR Congo, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland, Angola, Mauritius, Madagascar and Kenya.
Moodley holds an MBA from Henley Business School as well as various diplomas.
Another addition to the Bridgestone team is the appointment of Ereck Mudeme, who brings solid franchise experience which will be valuable in building and strengthening franchisee’s relationship with Bridgestone South Africa. Mudeme joined the tyre giant Bridgestone South Africa in the capacity of Senior Legal Counsel and his blend of legal and compliance skills will add value to the Bridgestone South Africa’s legal requirements in commercial transactions.
Prior to joining Bridgestone, Mudeme occupied senior positions in various companies such as AECI and Rand Merchant Bank as Senior Legal advisor respectively and at Barloworld and Mayibuye Group he played the role of Legal Advisor and Contract Manager. His franchise experience was gained at PG Glass where he was the legal resource for all franchise agreements and was responsible for managing the legal affairs for franchisees and some of the distributors. His business, banking as well as mergers and acquisitions experience will stand him in good stead in his new role at Bridgestone.
Mudeme holds an MBA from Henley Business School and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Cape Town.
Nhlanhla Mdlawuzo also joined the group as a Supply Chain Director. Nhlanhla possesses vast experience gained from the various leadership and operational roles he has held while living and working in Kenya, Singapore, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Nhlanhla has developed and led several successful cross functional teams for Unilever in Africa, Asia and the Middle East and balances his breadth and depth of supply chain experience with strong business acumen. He has also worked for Mars Africa where he led the supply chain.
At Bridgestone SA, he will oversee supply chain strategy development and execution, ensuring an efficient supply chain function within the group.
Nhlanhla holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Honours degree in Chemical Engineering, Master of Business Administration, a Diploma in Financial Management, a Diploma in Marketing and various professional qualifications.
Recently Bridgestone South Africa welcomed Thandeka Ngoma as its new Marketing Executive. Ngoma possesses a wealth of experience from leading roles she has held in various marketing portfolios throughout her illustrious career.
At Phillips Africa she was marketing lead for Personal Care and Coffee for the Africa region and was responsible for upstream marketing. Her role involved delivering top line margin and bottom line for her categories and in the process acquired deep experience with direct to trade model and distributor model across different trade environments in Africa. This role was preceded by a stint within Philip SA as Senior Marketing Manager where she defined overall go-to-market strategy for her portfolio.
Her responsibilities at Bridgestone include maximising campaigns to increase sales and build brand awareness and loyalty as well as managing relationships with global teams.
Ngoma holds a B.Com qualification in Marketing and Information Systems from the University of Witwatersrand and a B.Com Honours in Marketing Management from the University of South Africa.
